Today the women’s competitions in the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rimini (Italy) begin.
The Romanian senior team consists of: Ana Maria Bărbosu, Sabrina Maneca Voinea, Lilia Cosman, Amalia Ghigoartă and Maria Ceplinschi.
The athletes are coached by: Camelia Voinea, Corina Moroșan, Patrick Kiens, Florin Cotuțiu and Daymon Jones enter the qualification competition today.
Following some pain in her ankle, gymnast Maria Ceplinschi was withdrawn by the trainers from vaulting and parallel bars, and it will be determined whether she will compete on the first day on the floor.
Our country’s junior team includes: Anamaria Mihăescu, Adelina Ionescu, Nelli Papana, Ariana Cotu and Alexia Blănaru.
Here is the competition schedule according to the Romanian Gymnastics Federation:
- May 2, 11.00-21.00– senior women’s qualifications, after which the individual compound ranking will be established and we will find out the gymnasts who will compete in the apparatus finals
- May 3, 11.45-21.00-junior qualifications, after which the individual and team rankings will be established, and we will find out the gymnasts who go to the apparatus finals
- May 4, 5:25-8:45 p.m– apparatus finals (seniors)
- May 5, 11.00-14.19 – apparatus finals (juniors)
- 5th of May,hours 00-18.12 – team final (seniors)
