SERIOUS ACCIDENT in Cluj on Dorobantilor took place on Tuesday evening, April 23. A foreign courier carrying food ran a red light and was hit hard by another car.

The accident took place at the intersection of Pieța Avram Iancu by the National Theatre, on the corner with the Court.

The driver told Digi24 that he was not speeding and stated that he did not notice the scooterist, and initially he did not even realize what had happened.

The scooterist came out crumpled

The victim was thrown from the scooter under another car, requiring the intervention of an extrication crew.

It is not the first time that accidents have occurred on Calea Dorobantilor, as the street is known for speed enthusiasts.

“On April 23, at around 10:50 p.m., a traffic accident was registered at the intersection between Piața Ștefan cel Mare and Bulevardul Eroilor in Cluj-Napoca.

From the first investigations carried out, it emerged that a 22-year-old foreign citizen, who was driving a moped from Timotei Cipariu Square, would have entered the intersection with Bulevardul Eroilor on a red light, being hit by a car, driven by a 65-year-old man, and then another car.

Following the event, the driver of the moped was stuck under the second car, being extracted by ISU Cluj crews, and then transported to the hospital for further investigations.

The three drivers were tested with the breathalyzer, the results were negative. In the case, investigations are being carried out under the aspect of the crime of culpable bodily harm”, informed IPJ Cluj.

The scooter rider was transported to the emergency hospital for medical treatment.

None of the drivers, nor the courier, consumed alcohol, the results of the breathalyzer test being negative.
