Andrei Muraru, Romania’s ambassador to the US, announced that “in Moscow, the weather starts to deteriorate from today”, after the US Senate voted on the aid package worth almost 61 billion dollars for Ukraine.

“The $95 billion international aid package that includes Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan was also voted on by the Senate tonight (after the House of Representatives on Saturday)! It should be noted that the vote was overwhelmingly favorable – from both parties.

Of the 100-member Senate, 79 senators voted for the international aid package (out of 51 votes needed), while 18 voted against it (15 Republicans and 3 Democrats).

Now, the law goes to President Joe Biden, who has promised to sign it into law as early as Wednesday. It’s obviously a big win for Ukraine supporters (most of the support package, almost 61 billion goes to support for Kiev) from both parties. In Moscow, the weather starts to deteriorate from today,” Ambassador Andrei Muraru wrote in a post on Facebook.

US Senate approves billions to keep Ukraine afloat. Last help before the elections

A sweeping foreign aid package easily passed the US Congress late Tuesday after months of delay, clearing the way for billions of dollars in new funding for Ukraine as Russia’s invasion force advances and Kiev leads lack of military supplies, reports Reuters.

“Now go and win the fight”

The influx of weapons should improve Kiev’s chances of avoiding a major push into the country’s east by Russian invaders, although it would have been more helpful if the aid had come closer to when Biden requested it last year, analysts said.

Schumer said she left a message with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Tuesday night, telling him: “OK, I did it. Now go and win the fight.”
