AUR believes that Gabriela Firea must give up her candidacy for a position of MEP if she wants to run for the City Hall

The AUR party believes that Gabriela Firea must give up her candidacy for a position of MEP if she wants to run for the Capital City Hall.

This point of view is conveyed by Mihai Enache, president of the AUR Bucharest branch. Enache is also a candidate for the Capital City Hall, from the AUR side.

“From reporter to moderator and TV presenter, from < than a politician, better a housewife > to spokesperson, today Gabriela Firea cannot decide if she wants to be mayor of Bucharest or a member of the European Parliament. Because at the moment he is one of the names thrown on the market by the PSD as a candidate for the General City Hall, but he is still on the list of candidates for the European Parliament elections, it is natural for him to choose and give up one of them, or both, if he would he had the decency to leave the stage after the revelations regarding the horror asylums”, declared Mihai Enache.

The leader of the AUR Bucharest states that he himself gave up his candidacy for the European Parliament “to dedicate himself to the race for Bucharest City Hall”. Mihai Enache also presents the example of his colleague, Ramona Bruynseels, who will run for the District 1 City Hall and who, for this reason, withdrew from the list of AUR candidates in the European Parliament elections.

In the PNL – PSD meeting on April 22, 2024, Cătălin Cîrstoiu was dropped as the joint candidate of these two parties for the position of general mayor. As a result, Gabriela Firea again became the PSD candidate for the position of general mayor of the Capital.

From the PNL, the candidate for the position of general mayor is Sebastian Burduja. Nicușor Dan (Dreapta Unită – Reper) and Cristian Popescu Piedone (PPUSL) are also candidates for this position.
