Despite the fact that Russia’s war in Ukraine is now in its 3rd year and soldier casualties are in the hundreds of thousands, Vladimir Putin continues his aggression without scruple.

But now, Great Britain is sending a “poisoned gift” to Putin for Putin: long-range Storm Shadow missiles, delivering the most valuable military aid to date, a real “diamond” for Ukrainian troops.

In addition to the Storm Shadow, which are precision-guided cruise missiles with a range of more than 250 kilometers (155 miles), Britain is also fielding more than 1,600 attack and air defense missiles, the office said to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, according to Bloomberg.

The UK will send more long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine as part of the biggest military aid package to Kiev since Russia’s 2022 invasion, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said.

The package amounts to 500 million pounds ($620 million), bringing total British military aid to Ukraine this financial year to 3 billion pounds.

“Defending Ukraine against Russia’s brutal ambitions is vital for our security and for all of Europe,” Sunak said in a statement ahead of a two-day trip to Poland and Germany starting on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

If Russian President Vladimir Putin “is allowed to succeed in this war of aggression, he will not stop at the Polish border,” the prime minister added.

Sunak will hold meetings with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Warsaw before traveling to Berlin to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for more air defense systems as Russian forces exploit Ukraine’s ammunition shortage by stepping up missile attacks on power plants, power grids and residential areas. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said last week that Ukraine urgently needs more air defense.

As part of the new funding, Britain will also procure drones to be sent to Ukraine, expanding domestic defense supply chains.

The pack also includes around 60 boats, including offshore raiding craft, other boats and naval guns, as well as over 400 vehicles, including “Husky” vehicles and over 160 other armored personnel carriers. About 4 million rounds of small arms ammunition will also be included.
