The state company Hidroelectrica, the largest producer of electricity in Romania, also the largest individual competitive supplier of electricity on the local profile market, is looking for a payment processor to ensure the online payment of consumption bills by the population, through the application iHidro and on the hidroelectrica.ro website.

The implementation of a bank card payment processing system for the iHidro application and on the hidroelectrica.ro website is essential not only for maintaining customer satisfaction, but also for remaining competitive in a dynamic market environment. An important aspect of this solution is the almost complete elimination of the risk of delayed allocation. By automating and streamlining the payment process, the proposed system will optimize the workflow and reduce the risk of errors″, a company document states.

The maximum possible total value of the one-year contract put up for auction by Hidroelectrica is estimated at around 3.73 million lei plus VAT, equivalent to a fee of no more than 0.42% of each transaction processed plus VAT.

The deadline for submitting offers is May 8.

For the mentioned commission, the provider that will win the tender will have to provide a number of almost 30 types of services for Hidroelectrica, IT, financial and customer relations. The full list of them can be read here.

As reported by Profit.roHidroelectrica has as objectives in the supply segment, among others, by the middle of the year, the completion of the mobile application for domestic consumers, as well as the identification of spaces for customer relations centers.

At the end of last year, Hidroelectrica had outstanding invoices of over 3 billion leirepresenting almost half of the net profit made that year and a level more than double the amount reported at the end of 2022, of 1.35 billion lei. However, the responsibility does not primarily belong to the customers, but to the company, which has issued invoices late, and in some cases has not issued invoices since the end of 2022.

At the end of 2023, Hidroelectrica was preparing the extension for another year of the subscriptions to the Uipath software robots used to automate the procedures for concluding contracts with the customers to whom they supply electricity, as well as upgrading them with new functionalities, intending to develop an online contracting portal for non-domestic clients as well, with whom it currently exchanges documents only by e-mail. The upgrade was also presented as necessary for individuals to be able to upload the new ID card model to the existing contracting portal.
