Cioromelea (AUR): Abusive practices in the relationship with Romanian producers; the Minister of Economy to check
Senator AUR Valentin – Rică Cioromelea requested on Wednesday, in plenary, the Minister of Economy Ştefan – Radu Oprea, present at “Government Hour”, to order checks “with speed” on some “abusive practices” that Romanian producers would face in relations with major food retailers.
“I am bringing to your attention the situations faced by Romanian producers in their relations with large retailers. (…) Romanian producers complain that their products are delisted abusively, although they meet all the necessary conditions, they claim abusive practices, in relation to the legislation in force, not displaying them correctly on the shelf, not bringing them from the store with the rhythm required by sales, the practice of commercial additions and very high taxes compared to the purchase price imposed on producers. After not exhibiting with the necessary rhythmicity on the shelf, it is also practiced to move the products to other areas, ie invisible or less visible, so that buyers have difficulty finding the products. All this generates huge losses or even the forced bankruptcy of producers, which is not caused by the lack of market demand, but by possible intentions and dubious practices. (…) Please order speedy checks on these aspects and if they are confirmed, apply measures to correct these situations”, said Cioromelea.
The AUR senator claimed that many Romanian producers brought these aspects to his attention, but asked not to reveal their identity, in order not to be delisted.
“Many producers face the same problems. These facts were brought to my attention in the Commission on Abuses in the Senate, but it is difficult for these producers to appear, because they will be delisted”, explained Valentin – Rică Cioromelea.
