Premiere: A man from Lugoj is accused of attempted murder after intentionally causing a road accident – Lugoj Info

A young man from Lugoj will appear before the judges of the Timiș Court to answer for a serious accident that he intentionally caused.

The individual, who in 2022 was 19 years old, intentionally drove into a car. The Timișoara prosecutors took over the file from their colleagues in Lugoj and have now announced that they have completed the investigations. “On 24.01.2022, at around 3:00 p.m., amid conflicting discussions with his father and with the declared intention to commit suicide, the defendant, while driving a car at excessive speed and in violation of the legal norms regarding overtaking other vehicles on DN6, from the direction of Caransebeș towards Timișoara, at the entrance to the roundabout on the A6 highway (where the speed is limited to 30 km/h, and the directions of travel are separated by a continuous double line), collided with the part of the back of another car, which was moving in the same direction and in which the injured persons were. Thus, following the impact between the two cars, the car in which the injured persons were was projected over the square of the mentioned roundabout, rolled in the air, during which one of the injured persons fell from it, after which the car, falling, it hit the metal guardrail on the side of the road and then came to rest in a concrete water collection channel towards the OMV Petrom petrol station outside the carriageway of the roundabout. As a result of the road accident, the injured persons suffered bodily injuries that required for healing a number of 40 days of medical care, 30 days of medical care, respectively 110 days of medical care and the life was put in danger for the injured person who fell from the car”, announced the Timisoara magistrates. It is the first time that a young driver from Lugoj is accused of such a serious crime following a traffic accident.
