Pure Stone, 11th edition
Press release – Piatra Neamț City Hall: We started this year’s Clean Stone campaign with a planting action on Cârlomanu Mountain. Having already become a tradition for our city, Piatra Curată has also proposed its continuation in the 11th edition nature protection actions and of care of the surrounding space.
Today, on Cârlomanu Mountain, behind the Transport Technical College, dozens of volunteers planted PINE, wild cherries and Paltinei, in an initiative that aims to strengthen the soil and improve the air quality in the area. Students from High School No. 2, juniors and teachers from the Fighting Section of CS Ceahlăul Piatra-Neamț and members of the County Union of Pensioners and Elderly Persons Neamț.
Until the end of April, Piatra-Neamț City Hall will organize several activities as part of the campaign, including the largest initiative so far for the development of green spaces in the city.
“We are in Forest Month, which was marked today with a planting action in Piatra-Neamț, on Cârlomanu hill. I was happy that volunteers of all ages gave their time to nature, to the well-being of their city, and I was happy for the children who today learned a lesson about care and responsibility. Thank you to everyone present today for their energy and involvement!
Pure Stone is about the beautiful things a united community can do. Today we started the 11th edition and we will continue it with the biggest action to beautify the green areas in the city!” declared the mayor Andrei Carabelea.
Also today, the activity of planting ornamental shrubs begins in several areas of the city – the Central Park, the Royal Court and the Aurora Park -, part of the objective assumed by the Piatra-Neamț City Hall since the beginning of the year. More than 14 million lei are allocated for the maintenance of public gardens, parks, green spaces, sports facilities and recreational areas.
