Apple. 28—American Family Care Urgent Care this week announced a new medical clinic at 320 Geneva Ave., Suite 100, in Joplin’s Northpark Crossing Shopping Center.

At over 3,000 square feet, the new clinic will allow providers and practitioners to provide care to the growing community.

Construction is to be completed in April, with a grand opening slated for May 1.

The clinic will be staffed by physicians and advanced practice providers as well as supporting medical staff including nurse assistants, X-ray technicians and certified phlebotomists.

AFC Urgent Care Joplin said it will be open seven days a week offering a variety of services, including an in-house laboratory, EKG and an X-ray unit for real-time results, with average wait times of 15 minutes or less.

Providers will be able to diagnose and treat minor emergencies, acute illnesses and injuries, as well as perform procedures.

“Urgent care centers are quickly becoming a convenient alternative to unnecessary emergency room visits, allowing our local emergency departments to focus on true emergencies” Reilly Allmoslecher, AFC clinical director, said in a statement. “Acute and primary care providers are especially important in these neighborhoods where families and businesses are growing. We are committed to providing the highest quality health care for our entire community.”

AFC operates 434 locations across the country.

An open house will be held from 3-5 pm Tuesday, April 30. Tours of the facility, refreshments as well as health screening information will be available. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3 pm
