Apple is preparing to surprise fans of the Beats brand with the release of two new models of headphones, Solo 4 and Solo Buds, just before the “Let Loose” event dedicated to the new iPad tablets.
The Beats Solo 4 headphones promise a significant upgrade over previous versions, being the company’s first over-ear headphones compatible with both iOS and Android operating systems. This feature allows for quick pairing without resorting to classic Bluetooth settings and includes integration with Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find My Device location systems, writes Android Headlines.
iOS users benefit from additional features such as the voice command “Hey Siri” and Audio Sharing, which allows multiple headphones to be connected to the same device at the same time.
What playback models will the new headphones support
Solo 4 supports three playback methods: Bluetooth, via 3.5mm jack cable for superior sound quality, and USB-C, which is also used to charge headphones. With a battery life of 50 hours and the ability to add 5 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging through “Fast Fuel” technology, the Solo 4 are priced at US$199, competing directly with ULT Wear’s at Sony.
On the other hand, for lovers of true wireless headphones, Apple offers the Beats Solo Buds, the company’s most affordable wireless headphones to date, priced at US$79. They are in-ear and feature dual-layer speakers, active noise cancellation (ANC), Fast Pair, and full iOS and Android compatibility.
The Solo Buds also include a physical button for playback control, and autonomy is supported by a compact charging case that provides an additional 18 hours of playback.
