Razer launches the Viper V3 Pro, a gaming mouse created in collaboration with esports professionals

--

Made in collaboration with the best players in esports, including zekken, champion and MVP of the VALORANT Champions Tour Masters Madrid, the Razer Viper V3 Pro has been tested in the most demanding gaming conditions.

“Viper V3 Pro has transformed my gameplay,” said Zachary “zekken” Patrone, VALORANT pro player for Sentinels. “The new super lightweight design gives me an advantage that seems almost unfair. It is a deciding factor for esports professionals.”

The Viper V3 Pro has a position reporting speed of 8,000 times per second, ensuring the most discrete movements are picked up instantly, without unwanted latencies.

The $160 Viper V3 Pro bundle also includes the Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle ($30 as a separate accessory, for the $150 Viper V2 Pro).

4 grams lighter than its predecessor, the Viper V2 Pro, the new V3 Pro is among the lightest battery-powered gaming mice you can buy.

Also included is a second-generation “Focus Pro” optical sensor with 35,000 DPI resolution that can be adjusted in 1 DPI increments. The device includes larger slide pads, an optimized scroll wheel for a more “tactile” experience, and a whole arsenal of small tweaks good for ergonomics.

Redesigned from the inside out to deliver superior performance thanks to its ultra-lightweight construction, the Viper V3 Pro comes in Black and White editions to match any gaming setup.

The product also offers up to 16 hours of additional battery life when using 4000Hz mode and almost double the battery life (62 hours) at 2000Hz, although battery life at 8000Hz remains the same.

And Razer is throwing a “Sensitivity Matcher” into its app that lets you press a button and switch from your old mouse to your new mouse effortlessly, with the app automatically picking up the DPI setting you’re used to. The Viper V3 Pro features the same third-generation optical switches as the previous model, designed for endurance of up to 90 million clicks.

Last but not least, Razer changes the external feel of the mouse in a way that raised alarm bells for me at first – it migrates to a smooth-to-the-touch finish instead of the eggshell texture of the previous mouse. But when I asked if we’re going back to the initially delightful but ultimately sticky mess of rubber-coated mice of yore, third-party spokeswoman Alyssa Benson assured me that there’s no rubber involved here.

Viper V3 Pro is available in black and white color versions; the white model weighs one gram more.

Starting in October 2023, the prototype has been rigorously tested by more than 45 professional players in 5 major tournaments, so that it is ready for today’s most difficult competitive environments. Notable improvements include larger feet, a smooth finish, and a strategically placed DPI button on the bottom, along with separate side buttons that prevent misclicks and enhance the gaming experience.

“Constant innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Razer, especially in the esports arena,” said Jeffrey Chau, Razer’s Director of Global Esports. “The Viper V3 Pro was born from the valuable insights of the elite professionals on the Razer team. With its revolutionary shape, lightweight construction and our advanced technology, it is designed to deliver the ultimate in accuracy and speed, allowing players to outperform and reach their full potential.”
