Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra: Initial details on Samsung’s third foldable phone this year

--

According to a report published by GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra could be the third foldable phone released by Samsung this year. This is not the first time that the existence of an Ultra model of the Fold series has been circulated. In February, Winfuture.de published a report claiming that an Ultra-branded foldable phone would launch alongside the regular Z Fold 6 model.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra model number has been revealed

Last year, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 debuted with the model number SM-F946, and its successor, the Z Fold 6, has the model number SM-F956, according to reports. According to GalaxyClub, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra could carry the model number SM-F958.

Samsung seems to use the suffix “8” in model numbers mainly for its “Ultra” variants, as can be seen in devices such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra with model number SM-S928. Although details regarding the model number SM-F958 have emerged, the name “Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra” remains speculative and should be approached with caution. However, this leak could prove to be accurate.

Limited availability for Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra?

The report mentions that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra might only be available in the South Korean market. While the publication identified the SM-F958N variant for South Korea, there are currently no indications of the development of versions for markets such as Europe and the US.

Unfortunately, the report does not provide information about the specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. It is speculated that Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in early July this year to announce the new devices. In addition to the Z Fold 6 Ultra, the regular Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Ring are expected to be announced.
