Apple has confirmed that its annual developer event, WWDC 2024, will take place from June 10-14. The event will be streamed online and free for all developers, just like in previous years. However, for the first time since the pandemic, Apple will also hold a physical event at its headquarters in Apple Park for some of the developers and students.
The new iOS 18 version in the spotlight
One of the highlights of WWDC 2024 will be the release of iOS 18, the biggest iPhone update to date. The new version of the operating system is expected to bring revolutionary artificial intelligence (AI) features and a completely redesigned and customizable home screen.
Other software updates for Apple devices
In addition to iOS 18 for iPhone, Apple will also unveil major updates for its other products:
- iPadOS 18 for iPad tablets
- watchOS 11 for Apple Watch
- macOS 15 for Mac computers
- tvOS 18 for Apple TV
- visionOS 2 for the future AR/VR Vision Pro headset
Limited physical experience at Apple Park
Although WWDC 2024 will primarily be an online event, Apple will offer a limited physical experience at its headquarters. A limited number of developers and students will be able to watch the keynote and technical presentations live at Apple Park. They will have the opportunity to interact with Apple employees and attend the Apple Design Awards ceremony.
