Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Hernandez will miss the end of the season and the European Championship in Germany (June 14-July 14) after picking up an injury during the Champions League semi-final against Borussia Dortmund.

Aged 28, Hernandez was injured during the phase in which Niklas Fullkrug scored the only goal of the game on Wednesday night (’36). He was replaced by Lucas Beraldo.
The Parisian group announced that Hernandez suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will undergo surgery.
“Lucas Hernandez suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the Champions League match between Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.
An MRI performed today confirmed the diagnosis made by the club’s doctors on Wednesday evening. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days.” stated PSG.
Transferred last summer from Bayern Munich for 45 million euros, the defender has played in 41 games this season.
Lucas Hernandez has accumulated 37 caps in the French national team, which will play in Group D at EURO 2024, alongside Poland, Austria and the Netherlands.
Coach Didier Deschamps will announce the squad for the final tournament on May 16.
