On Wednesday, April 3, at the Cotroceni Palace, the President of Romania will receive the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the Prime Ministers of Hungary – Viktor Orban, Belgium – Alexander De Croo and Croatia – Andrej Plenković, according to official G4Media sources.

Klaus Iohannis will organize an official dinner for the four foreign dignitaries, and the meeting takes place in the format of Strategic Agendas launched by the President of the European Council Charles Michel, regarding the priorities of the European Union for the next institutional cycle.

It is the first time that a meeting is organized in this format with Hungary, Belgium and Croatia, plus the head of the European Council.

The visit takes place three months before Hungary takes over the rotating presidency of the European Union exactly during the period when the leadership positions of the major community institutions will be negotiated after the elections – the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Council, as well as the positions of commissioners.

Recently, the president of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, officially announced his candidacy for the headship of NATO, and such an appointment needs unanimity, thus requiring the agreement of countries such as Hungary, Belgium and Croatia.
