The 2023 report of the US State Department on human rights in Romania points to the fact that our country did not provide sufficient conditions for Ukrainian refugees, writes Inpolitics.

“Access to basic services: Displaced persons from Ukraine faced significant barriers to accessing health services. Romanian legislation provided direct access to free and specialized medical assistance for Ukrainians who received temporary protection status.

However, in practice many hospitals required referrals from GPs before providing treatment.

Widespread difficulties in registering with family doctors and obtaining appointments due to burdensome bureaucratic procedures and language barriers have been reported,” the official document released today said.
