A car caught fire on Saturday at km 34 of the A1 Bucharest-Pitesti, on the way to the capital, informs ISU Giurgiu.

“The driver realized that the car had a problem, stopped in the emergency lane and got out immediately, together with the passenger accompanying him. When one of them opened the trunk, the car was engulfed in flames”, said the cited source.

Firefighters from the Bolintin Deal Detachment went to the scene, with a special fire truck and a SMURD ambulance.

They found that the car was completely on fire, with large emissions of smoke. The fire was also extended to the vegetation on the side of the road, on an area of approximately 50 square meters.

No people were injured, stated ISU Giurgiu.

Most likely the event occurred due to a short circuit.
