A man was detained by the police in Iași shortly after he was released from prison after being caught in the act while possessing and transporting heroin.

According to DIICOT, on April 26, the prosecutors in Iași ordered the detention of a defendant (recently released from prison), investigated under the aspect of committing the crime of high-risk drug trafficking.
“The measure was taken after, on the same day, he was caught in the act while possessing and transporting, hidden in his clothing, the amount of approximately 7 grams of heroin intended for sale (which could be portioned into at least 220 doses of 0 .03 grams, the selling price being 100 lei/dose)”, says the statement of the Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism.
Today, the judge of rights and liberties of the Iași Court was notified with the proposal of preventive arrest of the defendant, for a period of 30 days.
“The criminal investigation activities were carried out together with police officers from the Iași Organized Crime Brigade. The action benefited from the support of the policemen from the IPJ Iași and the gendarmes from the IJJ Iași. We make it clear that during the entire criminal process the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided for by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence”, the cited source also indicates.
