Romeo Țepeș-Focșa, PSD Harghita leader, provides a detailed analysis of the PSD government’s influence on Romanian industry, emphasizing the support given to national production.

In the current mandate, Romanian industry has seen a nominal growth of 5.4% in the first two months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, marking a constant positive trend.

Industrial sectors directly benefited from PSD policies, with a notable impact in the automotive industry, which saw impressive growth. In February 2024, passenger car production reached 50,488 units, reflecting an increase of 3.54% over the previous year, with a major contribution from the Dacia and Ford Otosan plants. This expansion not only strengthens Romania’s industrial structure, but also significantly boosts the nation’s export profile.

Țepeș-Focșa emphasizes that these achievements are the fruit of a long-term PSD strategy, focused on the sustainable development of the industrial sector through various facilities and state aid schemes. This approach allowed not only the consolidation of existing companies, but also the attraction of new investments and the stimulation of job creation.

The remarkable progress in the automotive industry exemplifies the success of this policy, with plans to introduce new models and technologies, including electrified variants of Ford models. These measures not only diversify the production range, but also strengthen Romania’s export infrastructure, thus contributing to robust economic growth in the long term.

Țepeș-Focșa is firmly convinced that PSD will maintain this progressive direction, emphasizing the need to continue and expand government support for the industrial sector, ensuring Romania’s position as a competitive and innovative actor on the global industrial scene
