Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu asked, at the beginning of this week, the Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity, Simona Bucura Oprescu, to do everything possible to grant pensions before the Easter holidays. The Prime Minister’s request was made on Tuesday, April 23, before the Government meeting.

“I ask the minister to talk to all the banks in Romania, to see what changes need to be made to the conventions, and to the Romanian Post, so that all pensioners receive their pensions before the Easter holidays“, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said, according to Mediafax. Thus, Romanian Post will have, starting next week, a special program, precisely to forward payments to pensioners in the country.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Labor, Raul Giulea, the National Pension House and the County Pension Houses will make efforts so that the pensions arrive on time in the accounts of those who receive the money on the card, being targeted by this advance also the pensioners who receive the money by Postal mandate.

“The Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity drafted the draft government decision by which pensions will be paid before the Easter holidays. We will submit it in the next government meeting. As far as I know at the moment, the meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday. Then this draft government decision will be introduced in the government meeting. The usual payment day for those who receive their pensions in the account or on the card, as we say, is after the 12th day of the month. At this moment, all efforts are being made at the National Pension House so that the money comes in before Easter. It is also an effort made by our colleagues from the Territorial Pension Houses. Just think what it means to print almost five million pension vouchers. Pensioners from Mureș County will receive their pensions before Easter

Thus, Romanian Post, and implicitly the post offices in Mureș County, announce that they will have a special program between May 1-6, 2024.

On May 1, on National Labor Day, all rural and urban postal subunits will be closed, on May 2 all rural and urban postal subunits will operate according to normal working hours, and during May 3, Good Friday – May 6, Monday, the day after Easter, all rural and urban postal subunits will be closed. Starting from Tuesday, May 7, all postal subunits will resume their normal working hours.

However, the post offices in the county will do their best to get the pensions to the recipients before the Easter holidays.
