After four years of discussions and debates, the builders began the demolition of the 59 garages, on Ștefan Tomșa Street, behind the Suceava City Hall. Their owners received compensation in the amount of 1.2 million lei. Vice-mayor Lucian Harșovschi announced that instead of the garages, the first multi-story parking lot in Suceava will be built. According to the work schedule, the construction should be ready in two years.

Oana Șlemco is a graduate of the Faculty of Public Administration and the Faculty of Letters and Communication Sciences, within the “Ștefan cel Mare” University Suceava. He has been working in the media for almost 20 years, where he works as an editor, commentator, producer of shows, but he likes the most when he is on the ground, among people. She is convinced that journalism that defends the common good did not die the day social media appeared online. He believes that the journalist’s role is to fight for the restoration of reality and tackles issues of community interest. The values that guide his professional activity are transparency – which involves giving the public the chance to monitor the process of collecting, reporting, presenting and disseminating information – and responsibility, which means assuming the consequences of decisions and facts. In 2008, he received the publication award of the Cultural Foundation of Bucovina. In 2013, he won a “Euromonitor for Excellence” scholarship and did a training internship in the RFI newsroom in Brussels. In 2016, he received the award for the journalism category in the “People of the Time” campaign. In 2020, he received the top prize “Honestly about poverty”, awarded by the “Renasis” Association.
