Counterfeit detergent products, removed from the market! Action to combat tax evasion

The past few days, the economic crime investigation policemen, from the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate, carried out activities to combat illegal acts of trade and other acts with a negative impact on the safety of the citizen.

On April 20, 2024, the policemen of the Economic Crime Investigation Service, within the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate, carried out checks at the economic agents in the municipalities of Vaslui and Bârlad, to prevent and combat the crimes of tax evasion and the sale of counterfeit products.

On the occasion of the activities carried out, the commission of 3 offenses of “putting into circulation a product bearing an identical or similar trademark to a registered trademark for identical or similar products” provided for by Law 84/1998 regarding the putting into circulation a product bearing an identical or similar trademark to a registered trademark for identical or similar products.

At the same time, 1,824 products, from the category of detergents, worth over 95,000 lei, susceptible to being counterfeited, were detected and made unavailable.

The police officers of the Vaslui Economic Crime Investigation Service will continue to carry out specific actions throughout the county, in order to prevent and combat illegal activities and violations of the law, in all areas under their competence, in order to ensure an optimal climate of order, peace, safety and legality of the business environment, with a preponderance in the places and environments reported as having a high risk of committing acts of tax evasion.
