Racz Nadia Florentina, former deputy chief inspector of ITM Bihor, was sent to court by the DNA for bribery. The anti-corruption prosecutors accuse her of claiming and receiving between 2,000 and 4,000 euros in order to turn a blind eye to the irregularities detected at the controlled companies.

The DNA prosecutors also mention in the indictment that the former employee of the Bihor Territorial Labor Inspectorate would have announced the controls at the construction companies. Three ITM inspectors entered into plea agreements with anti-corruption magistrates.

On Tuesday, April 23, the DNA ordered the prosecution under the measure of judicial control of the defendant Racz Nadia Florentina. Two charges were filed against her, as follows.

  • bribery;
  • allowing unauthorized persons access to information that is not intended for advertising, in order to obtain money, goods or other improper benefits for oneself or for another (two acts).

He took bribes in continuous form

The acts of bribery would have taken place between February 14, 2022 and October 17, 2023. In the indictment, the DNA prosecutors also show that Racz Nadia Florentina would have committed the respective acts in complicity with three of her subordinates Buhaş Aurica, Hriscu Daniela Viorica and Floruţa Natalia Mărioara.

“During February 14, 2022 – October 17, 2023, in the context of carrying out checks at several commercial companies, the defendant Racz Nadia Florentina and three of her subordinates, namely Buhaş Aurica, Hriscu Daniela Viorica and Floruţa Natalia Mărioara, as labor inspectors, acting in different teams, he would have claimed and received, repeatedly, from several businessmen different sums of money, between 2,000 lei and 4,000 lei”, DNA transmitted.

The DNA also mentions that the sums requested by the defendants were requested in order not to apply contraventional sanctions for the irregularities found at the ITM Bihor controls, including working without legal documents.

In the same statement, the anti-corruption prosecutors add the fact that the defendant Nadia Florentina informed the administrators of several companies that the respective companies will be controlled by ITM inspectors.

“On June 13, 2023, the defendant Racz Nadia Florentina would have sent non-public information to some businessmen in the sense that she would have informed them that, on the same day, ITM employees would carry out more checks in the field constructions”, the cited source also transmitted.

Prosecutors entered into plea agreements with Florentina Racz’s subordinates. Hriscu Daniela Viorica, Floruța Natalia Mărioara and Buhaș Aurica admitted before the magistrates that they took bribes repeatedly.

“In the presence of the chosen defenders, the defendants expressly declared that they recognize the commission of the acts held against them, they accepted the legal framework for which the criminal action was initiated and they agreed with the type and amount of the penalties applied, ranging from 1 (one) year and 10 months and 3 (three) years in prison with suspension and the prohibition of certain rights”, the DNA also transmitted.
