The town hall of Beiuş municipality, Bihor county, has accessed a European project of 33.5 million euros, VAT included, financed by the North-West Regional Operational Program 2021-2027, Priority 7, Specific Objective 5.2, which involves the construction of an aquapark on an area total of 50,000 square meters and with a maximum capacity of 900 people. The duration of the investment is 36 months, according to a press release from the Beiuş town hall.
“The purpose of this project is to increase the attractiveness of Beiuş municipality and Bihor county and its economic and social development and implicitly of the North-West region, using natural tourist resources combined with elements of recreational potential and urban leisure. The capacity of the aquapark leisure complex will be 900 people in summer, respectively 300 people in winter. The proposed solution for heating/air conditioning is the use of a local renewable resource, namely geothermal energy, available to the municipality of Beiuş, according to a press release sent by the Beiuş mayor’s office.
The operation and maintenance of the investment will be ensured by the Beiuş Public Domain Administration. For the operation of the future aquapark, it is estimated that 32 jobs will be created.
