Eight searches took place on Wednesday, in Dolj county, in two cases of trafficking in minors and trafficking in persons. In one of the files, a 15-year-old girl was recruited and forced into prostitution in Italy.

The DIICOT representatives announced that the prosecutors and the police are conducting eight house searches in Dolj County, in two cases related to trafficking in minors and human trafficking.

“From the evidentiary material administered in the first case, it emerged that in January 2023, a suspect recruited a minor injured person, aged 15, taking advantage of her obvious state of vulnerability (precarious material situation, naivety, lack of education) and by misleading (promises of cohabitation), he transported her and sheltered her in Italy where, through acts of physical and mental violence, he sexually exploited her, forcing her to practice prostitution (“on the street”)”, they specified the prosecutors.

They added that the person in question was helped by a member of his family who supervised the girl and collected the sums of money resulting from prostitution.

“The research carried out in the second file revealed the fact that four suspects (members of the same family) recruited several injured persons, minors and adults, by misleading or taking advantage of the state of vulnerability in which they were, after which they transported them to Italy, in order to obtain sums of money from their sexual exploitation”, said the quoted source.
