Eight home searches are carried out on Wednesday morning, in Dolj county, in two criminal cases regarding the commission of the crimes of trafficking minors and human trafficking.
According to IPJ Dolj, in January 2023, a person allegedly recruited a 15-year-old teenage girl, taking advantage of her obvious state of vulnerability (poor material situation, naivety, lack of education) and promising her that they would be together, to took her to Italy. Here, the girl was beaten, sexually exploited and forced to practice prostitution “on the street”.
In the criminal activity, the one who took her to Italy would have benefited from the support of another person (a member of his family). The latter supervised the teenager and collected the sums of money she obtained from prostitution.
The research carried out in the second file revealed that four people (members of the same family) would have recruited several injured persons, minors and adults, by misleading or taking advantage of their state of vulnerability, after which would have transported them to Italy, in order to obtain sums of money from their sexual exploitation.
The hearings will be held at the headquarters of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Territorial Service Craiova.
Specialized support was provided by the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police.
The action benefits from the support of gendarmes from the Mobile Group of Gendarmes Craiova.
