The city hall resumed work in the election year on a project with European money that had to be completed in 2022

Election year: the works on a project of the Iaşi City Hall with European money have been resumed, although, normally, they should have been completed as early as 2022. It is about the development of a plot of land in Nicolina (Bradului street, with access to Orientului street and Egalătății street ) in a park, where the works were stopped in the year in which the park was actually supposed to be inaugurated. The situation was reported to us by a “Ziarul de Iasi” reader, who sent us some images of the work team’s activity in the area.

“The works on the project with the parks of the Iasi City Hall with EU money have resumed, on the park in Nicolina, another project that has been paralyzed for several years. It would seem that they have found a company. They put tricolor trash cans, “a la Ghiţă Funar”, what can I say, it clearly separates Chirica from the AUR electorate, and from Şoşoaca. I’m being ironic, obviously. The best part is that it looks like a children’s playground. But there is another one about 50 meters away (it can be seen in the picture in the background). This will be a playground for adults. I honestly expected them to set up a promenade, with artesian water, exotic trees. But that’s all his mind took,” the reader told us.

In 2020, Iasi City Hall signed the contract for construction works related to the European-funded project “Oase of greenery in our neighborhood – Community program for the revitalization of small abandoned/degraded public spaces”, a project that involves the transformation of five degraded plots of land in the city in small parks equipped with lawns, trees and shrubs, recreation spaces, playgrounds and sports facilities. The contract was awarded to Con Ted Company SRL in 2020 and was terminated two years later because the works progressed at a snail’s pace, and subsequently tenders were launched.

In addition to the land in Nicolina, the other lands are located in Dacia (Prof. I. Simionescu alley, near the “George Coşbuc” School), Bularga (Butnari street) and Cantemir (Romană street).
