According to the mayor, the building with two floors and 24 apartments, is located on Intrarea Văcăreşti street, in Sector 4, and received non-refundable European financing of approximately 560,000 euros. The proposed solution consists in strengthening the building on the outside, by implementing an external skeleton that will increase the building’s earthquake resistance, as well as a high-performance system of facade panels to increase energy efficiency.

Seismic sensors will be placed on the building.

“Specialists of the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics (INCDFP) installed sensors to record and transmit in real time future seismic movements and understand the behavior of a building that is to be seismically strengthened by the Capital City Hall, through the Municipal Administration for Building Consolidation with Seismic Risk (AMCCRS)”, says Nicuşor Dan, who says that the initiative is part of the 2021-2027 innovative research and development pilot program, supported by the European Union through the HORIZON – MULTICARE project.

The general mayor announces that such sensors will be mounted on all residential buildings that AMCCRS will strengthen through the National Program for Consolidation of Buildings at Seismic Risk, which have a height regime of at least P+3.
