The Minister of the Environment, visit to the only dairy producer in Romania certified DOP at the European level – News from Mures, News Targu mures

The Mirdatod milk processing factory in the municipality of Reghin received the visit of the Minister of the Environment, Waters and Forests, Mircea Fechet, on Tuesday, April 2.

“Minister Mircea Fechet was our guest during his visit to Mureș county. We have met with his lordship many times at different events and he promised us to visit our factory in Reghin when he arrives in Mureș, a promise that was finally honored. His Lordship declared himself extremely pleased with what he saw and with our products. He even declared to us that he is a buyer of Mirdatod products, an opinion shared by those in his stuff. Now he had the opportunity to see for himself the place where these products are made, and here I mean “Telemeaua de Ibănești”, the only product in Romania certified at the level of the European Union as a Product of Protected Origin, mountain products certified at the level European cheese, Ibăneşti curd and sour cream, yogurt and burduf cheese, products highly appreciated by our guests. It is very important that high-ranking guests visit domestic producers who only process Romanian milk, behind which several thousand people live from the collection of the raw material that is milk”, said Nicu Bumb, chief engineer at SC Mirdatod Prod SRL.

The next target for the company run by the brothers Mircea and David Todoran is the cheese of burdu.

“In the future, we want to certify ourselves at the European level with the bellows cheese as well. Until then, we will tick off between April 18-21 a new presence at the largest event dedicated to agriculture in Transylvania, AGRARIA, a fair that we have not missed in any edition. And this year we are waiting at our stand for all the consumers and all the farmers we work with and who we hope we will collaborate with in the future, to experience the taste of Ibănești products,” said engineer Nicu Bumb.
