Colterm ends the winter season with fuel stocks and green certificates bought

With fuel stocks and green certificates paid for both power plants in Timișoara, this is how Colterm will end the cold season, the heating company announced.

On March 31, 2024, the gas stock situation is above expectations, with the amount of 30,000 MWh stored, compared to zero stock, on March 31, 2023, fully consumed, to which will be added the amount of 6,308 MWh contracted for storage during April .

“Our estimates for March were for a consumption of 15,000 MWh from the stored gas, but the requirement was 2,200 MWh lower than we forecast. The decrease in natural gas consumption in March wasdetermined by the decrease in supply parameters, in conditions of higher external temperatures than the normal ones of the period. The natural gas purchase contractfor current consumption, ongoing, covers the entire year, valid until 31.12.2024″, a announced Colterm. The end of March, and soon the end of the heating season, will find Colterm also with a coal stock of 12,853 tons, slightly lower than the same period last year (15,569 tons). The amount of coal purchased between June 2023 – March 2024 is 161,870 tonnes, to which is added the stock at the end the previous heating season, of 7,767 tons. Of the 169,637 tons of coal, 156,784 tons have been consumed up to now.

The situation is also good in terms of green certificates.

“At this moment we have purchased 65,000 pollution certificates and with the receipt of the 35,000,000 lei from induced losses, related to the year 2022, our estimates show that we will be able to fully comply with the two plants. As I mentioned, we are at the end of the heating season and we want to thank our consumers once again for their trust and to assure them that things are going well, their comfort being our main concern. At the same time, we want to inform them that, given the high temperatures during this period, we are suspending the supply of heating“, transmits Cristian Amza, the special administrator of Colterm.

Depending on the evolution of the weather and depending on the situation, the supply of heat will resume overnight or, if necessary, in the case of a sharp cooling, and during the day, at parameters correlated with the outside temperatures.
