The only USR mayor from Mures, a step towards another political party – News from Mures, Targu Mures News

The mayor of the USR of the Atintiș commune, Jakab János István, declared on Tuesday, April 2, for the daily newspaper Zi de Zi, that in the local elections on June 9 he will run for a new mandate, the second, from the Social Democratic Party.

“On the national level, I got along with all my colleagues from USR. I respect all the colleagues with whom I collaborated, but to do something you need a team at the county level. A team we didn’t have. At the level of Mureș County, we unfortunately did not have such a team. To be able to achieve something, you need a team, and I was the only USR mayor in Mureș, without political support. I felt very isolated and I chose the Social Democratic Party because I saw that it had a big, united team. Also, I chose PSD because it is a party close to the citizens of the rural area”, explained Jakab János István, the only mayor in the 2020-2024 legislature of the Save Romania Union from the Mureș county level.

Referring to his chances of being re-elected as the mayor of the Atintiș commune, Jakab János István stated the following: “We will see what the citizens will decide. The elections will be free, and according to the achievements we have achieved, I hope that the citizens will decide the best candidate.”
