How much will it cost to modernize the Recovery and Rehabilitation Center from Galda de Jos. What the building will look like

The investment data for the modernization of the Recovery and Rehabilitation Center at Galda de Jos will be updated. The county councilors approve, in the April 2nd meeting, the estimate for the technical project phase. Through a PNRR co-financing, the building will be renovated to ensure increased comfort conditions for institutionalized people.

The building is administered by the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Alba. It was put into use in 1984. Following the investment, the Neuropsychiatric Recovery and Rehabilitation Center (CRRN) in Galda de Jos will be modernized and transformed into a Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Center (CABR).

The financing contract was signed in December 2022. The non-refundable financing (PNRR) is 12,604,813.10 lei.

In the approval stage of the works (2023), the estimated amount was 20,837,828.72 lei, of which construction-assembly works 16,554,185.71 lei, including VAT. CJ Alba’s contribution was 8,233,015.62 lei.

Then, the estimate was updated to the technical design phase.

The total value of the investment is 27,571,629.39 lei, of which construction-assembly works 16,999,458.36 lei, including VAT.

The amount of 14,966,816.29 lei will be borne from the county budget.

The duration of the investment objective is 24 months.

Rehabilitation Center Galda de Jos. The current situation

The building was put into operation in 1984 as a 212-bed hospital. The finishes and dimensions of the spaces were made according to the norms valid in 1982. Most of the finishes and installations are still in operation today. They have a high degree of wear.

The canteen, the dining room and the related warehouses operate on the site of the old castle.

Now, access is through the courtyard of the old castle for staff, beneficiaries and canteen supplies and various materials, located on the west side.

Another access is through the southeast side, directly from the street with the destination of supplying fuel and other materials to the annex body.

The annex building has the purpose of laundry, drying room, thermal plant and storage. Old machines are installed in the current partitioning. Some of them have been repaired, others have been modernized.

Rehabilitation Center Galda de Jos. construction

By making the investment, it is desired to create a residential center with a maximum of 50 beneficiaries, while maintaining the location.

There will be modernization works to the main building (basement, ground floor and three floors) and annex.

Two electric vehicle charging stations will be installed with two charging points per station.

The building is located on a plot of 5,885 square meters, which will be equipped with car and pedestrian access, utility connections.

The canteen, dining room and storerooms will be moved to the ground floor of the building.

The spaces will be renovated. The mosaic floors in the hallways and stairwell will be replaced with high-traffic PVC carpet.

The washable interior paintwork, the electrical, sanitary and thermal installations will be redone. The windows will be changed. The lighting fixtures will be replaced.

The building will have fire detection and signaling installations, air conditioning and ventilation, lightning rod, video surveillance and anti-burglary, access control, internet, telephone, cable TV.

Also, thermal insulation will be made and photovoltaic panels and air-water heat pumps will be installed.

The yard will be landscaped and a new fence will be built.
