Firefighters from Alba draw attention to vegetation fires that cause significant damage. In the last hours, they intervened in several locations, to extinguish the flames that covered areas of land.

A new vegetation fire was reported on Monday afternoon. Firefighters from Aiud and SVSU operate at Livezile.

“In the last few hours, operative crews from the subunits of ISU Alba as well as the Voluntary Services for Emergency Situations urgently intervened to limit the spread and put out several uncontrolled fires that caused significant damage in Alba county.

Warnings for residents

ISU Alba warns residents to follow some rules:

  • Avoid burning garden waste or other waste in areas with natural vegetation, as these can start fires.
  • Do not throw cigarettes or other flammable objects in areas with natural vegetation.
  • Be aware of high temperatures and strong winds, as these conditions can increase the risk of fire.
  • If you notice a wildfire, immediately call the single emergency number 112 and try to get away from the affected area as quickly as possible.
