Investments in Romanian war hospitals. In Sibiu, there is a polytrauma surgical block at “Military”

--

From the 8 planned regional hospitals, we narrowed down to only two, and those through loans, because financing from the PNRR was not possible. Instead, the funds from the PNRR were redirected to four war hospitals, with polytrauma centers, prepared to serve the NATO soldiers who are growing in number on our territory.

Initially, these hospitals were supposed to be built using funds from the Ministry of National Defense, but the European Commission approved the reallocation of money from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

It seems that the only hospital constructions that will be completed and on time are those financed by the Ministry of National Defense. The government confirmed, in the last meeting, the financing from the PNRR of four public medical units subordinate to this ministry, located in Brașov, Craiova, Pitesti and Sibiu. Thus, in Craiova, an operational medicine-polytrauma pavilion will be erected in barracks 1053, financed both from PNRR, Component 12 – Health, Investment 2, and from the state budget, through the Ministry of National Defense, writes the National newspaper.

In Sibiu, also with PNRR funds, a surgical block for polytrauma will be built, intended to offer emergency services, ambulatory diagnosis, surgical treatment and medical-military functions, integrating into the Military Emergency Hospital “dr. Alexandru Augustin” from Sibiu.

The purpose of these projects is to provide medical services for the military and civilian personnel of the Ministry of National Defense, including for the military on missions in the area of investment responsibility, the reservists of the Romanian army from Sibiu County and neighboring counties, with an emphasis on maintaining operational capacity and evaluating the force structure of the Romanian Army.

Another new operational medicine-polytrauma hospital will be built from scratch in Barracks 646 Brașov, including the necessary road and network infrastructure. The goal remains the same: strengthening the operational capacity and maintaining the level of readiness of the armed forces. The funding sources come exclusively from the PNRR, which was directed to military hospitals.
