Apple recently announced the release of the new Apple M4 chip, developed using 3-nanometer manufacturing technology, an industry first. The chip, which contains 28 billion transistors, will be integrated into the new iPad Pro models.
The new iPad Pro series is available in two sizes: a 13-inch model and an 11-inch model, both with thicknesses of 5.1 mm and 5.3 mm, respectively. They are available in silver and space black, with housings made from 100% recycled aluminum. Both models are equipped with Ultra Retina XDR screens with state-of-the-art OLED technology, offering high-quality images and vivid colors.
Comparing the new M4 chip with its predecessor, the M2, it is observed that the M4 offers the same performance, but with half the power consumption, which improves the energy efficiency of the devices. Additionally, compared to other chips in the ultra-portable segment, the M4 reduces power consumption by 75%, delivering comparable performance at much lower power consumption.
What other features does the tablet come with?
Among the M4’s improvements is advanced graphics processing, with the chip integrating features such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading that improve performance in professional applications and graphics-intensive games. The M4 also includes the fastest neural engine developed by Apple, capable of performing up to 38 trillion operations per second, powering artificial intelligence applications.
iPad Pro with M4 also has an extremely slim design, benefiting from the new Ultra Retina XDR display that combines two OLED panels to ensure exceptional color fidelity and brightness uniformity.
Prices for the new iPad Pro in the US start at $999 for the 11-inch model (Wi-Fi version) and can go up to $1,499 for the 13-inch model (Wi-Fi + Cellular version).
