A week full of shows, in Arad. A new edition of the International New Theater Festival begins

The 9th edition of the International New Theater Festival will take place at the “Ioan Slavici” Classical Theater between May 11 and 17, in the theater’s large hall and in the Studio room.

The opening show of the festival will be “Homecoming” by Matei Vișniec, staged by the Arada association “Amifran” and the Faculty of Theater and Film Cluj-Napoca, which will be performed in French, with Romanian surtitles. On the same day, in the foyer of the theater, from 18:00, the exhibition “Bagossy Levente. Scenography projects”, followed by the performances “Fuck Nikon!”, produced by Point Cultural Hub Bucharest and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”, by the “Stela Popescu” theater in Bucharest. On the following day, the actors of the Theater for Children and Adolescents “Excelsior” from Bucharest will be present with the show “SF (Superfragile)” and the theater “Maria Filotti” from Brăila will present the show Shipwrecked! The Fantastic Adventures of Louis Rougemont (Told by Himself)’. On May 13, the “Freak Show vol. 2” performances of the “IL Caragiale” National Theater in Bucharest, with Florin Piersic jr., and the concert of the band “Fără Zahăr” are scheduled, and on May 14, the theater’s “Neliniște” performances will take place Odeon and “Furniture and pain”, of the “Andrei Mureșanu” theater in Sfântu-Gheorghe.

On May 15, the performances “Rabbit Hole”, of the “Regina Maria” theater in Oradea, and “Everyone’s Child”, made after an artistic residency at the Creation and Experiment Reactor in Cluj-Napoca, are scheduled, and the following day brings the performances on stage “It’s true, it’s true, it’s true!”, of the “Act” theater in Bucharest and “Who killed my father?”, staged at the “Metropolis” Youth Theater in Bucharest.

The last day of the festival presents three performances – “Macbeth”, performed by actors from the Faculty of Letters and Arts-Theatrical Art Department of the “Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu, the Central European Dance Theater from Budapest, the only guest from abroad, with the “Ageless Generation” show and the “Someone has to come” show of ARCUB – Cultural Center of the City of Bucharest.
