Women’s football is gaining more and more ground in Romania.
And the Ministry of Education took the initiative to support this development by establishing football classes for girls in five cities in the country.

Working closely with the Romanian Football Federation, the Ministry of Education recently issued an official document.
Announcing that starting with the 2024-2025 school year, five new football classes for girls will be established in the High Schools with Sports Program in Bistrița, Buzău, PITEŞTITârgu Mureș and Timisoara.

This decision represents an important step towards the development of the new generation of female athletes who choose football as their main sport.
By creating these football classes, which will function as centers of excellence, the Ministry and the Romanian Football Federation aim to give students the opportunity to develop their technical skills in football.

In the following years, Bistrita, Buzau, PITEŞTITârgu Mureș and Timișoara will become centers for the development and promotion of women’s football in Romania.
