Near Pitesti, the place where time went back 50 years!

In the town of Bascov, very close to the entrance to the municipality of Pitesti, a vast plot of land on which balar trees grow freely seems to have been forgotten.

However, the people of Argeș remember that here was once an emblematic building from Argeș County: former IATSA car service, built in the mid-70s. The building impressed with its unique architecture in the region, and even if the business stopped working in recent years, there were certainly options to preserve it and give it another destination.

The decision to demolish everything drew harsh criticism in the summer of 2022. Why was it demolished? To make it, the faces, another supermarket. There was talk that LIDL was coming, that LIDL was coming… But look, two years have passed and no one has come.

Moreover, during a recent visit by the reporters of our newspaper, we noticed that there is not even an information board to inform us that something is going to happen in that space.

People now have reason to be doubly disappointed: the pyramid – symbol of the Basque town – is gone, and they don’t even have a shopping store. At least it’s good that, in the shopping chapter, Argeș County is fighting for the “title”.
