The 21st edition of AUTHOR International Contemporary Jewelry Fair will take place at Ghica House, in Bucharest, on the weekend of May 18-19, and will exhibit over 3000 unique pieces of contemporary jewelry signed by designers from Romania and 16 other countries.
Enthusiasts of spectacular creations, bearing the artistic imprint of the designer, are invited to an encounter with jewelry with unusual volumes, which combine precious materials with unconventional materials such as ceramics, wood, textiles and even recyclable materials.
The fair will also have two related events: the launch of a capsule collection by the designer Cleopatra Coșuleț, in the creative space Doro 16, and the opening of an exceptional collection at the Museum of Romanian Literature, signed by Czech artists Jana and Peter Machatov, awarded in the past by AUTHOR.
“We invite you to a new multisensory experience of original creations that make a different statement depending on the wearer’s personality. It is an edition that stands under the sign of geographical diversity, with artists from Western Europe and the Balkans, but also from Argentina, the United States, the United Arab Emirates or India. For the first time we will also be launching the Young Designers section – a launching pad for talented and creative young jewelery designers. I want young artists to know how to better value their creations and receive the right price for their work and talent, so that contemporary jewelry becomes a viable business and a focal point of their careers.” said Dan Pierşinaru, founder of AUTHOR.
The public in Romania will have the opportunity to personally meet 60 of the most talented jewelry artists of the moment from North and South America, Asia and Europe, whose participation was carefully selected by a jury composed of five recognized specialists in contemporary jewelry at the international level
This year, the fair will have as its focus artist Ela Nord, winner of the AUTHOR Awesome Award at the 2023 edition.
A novelty of the fair will be a special stand from which it will be possible to purchase jewelry donated by the participating designers. Buyers will thus be able to contribute to the support of “AUTOR for the Future”, an education project through creative workshops for children from a commune in Braşov county, as an initiative to revitalize rural crafts and as a meeting point of traditional and contemporary design .
The fair will be open on the weekend of May 18-19, between 10:00 and 20:00, at Ghica House in the Old Center of the Capital. Tickets can be purchased at a reduced price on the Eventim platform or at full price directly at the entrance.
