The President of the Arad County Council, Iustin Cionca, signed a contract for the rehabilitation of the former Arad Municipal Hospital, an investment of over 33 million lei.

The Arad County Council announces, on Wednesday, in a press release, that the president Iustin Cionca signed the contract for the rehabilitation and modernization of the central pavilion of the former Municipal Hospital.

“The Arad County Council is rehabilitating and modernizing the central pavilion of the Municipal Hospital, an architectural gem and one of the oldest public utility buildings in the municipality of Arad, the first public hospital of Arad. We are talking about a hospital whose construction was initiated as early as 1775. The foundation that collected the funds for the construction of the hospital managed to start the works only in 1833. The first two salons were opened in 1836”, said Iustin Cionca, quoted in the press release.

The institution specifies that it took over the building in its heritage, from the City Hall, in March 2022 and immediately submitted the rehabilitation project.

The investment is financed by PNRR, the winning bidder being the association: SC TEHNODOMUS SRL LIDER DE ASOCIERE and SC MEDICAL LOGISTIC MALL SRL

The value of the contract is 33.8 million lei, the duration of the works is 14 months from the date of transmission of the firm order issued in writing by the beneficiary, and the warranty period is 60 months.

According to the data sent by the Arad County Council, the rehabilitation project of the Municipal Hospital will include the complete rehabilitation of Building c6 and the basement of Building c7, the creation of external networks, the creation of several heating, water, sewage and lighting networks, as well as equipping the buildings with charging stations for electric cars.

In addition, part of the medical fluid installations (oxygen installations) will be rehabilitated.
