Two Romanians opened a successful business in Romania, after 14 years of working abroad. They never looked back: “I had them all”

After working for years abroad and managing to achieve the life they dreamed of, two Romanians gave up everything and returned home. They gave England Porumbacu de Jos and they have no regrets.

In search of a better life, many Romanians go abroad. And while some don’t want to hear about Romania anymore, others choose to return and put their shoulder to the country’s development, opening successful businesses.

It is also the case of two young people, husband and wife, who, after living in England for 14 years, decided to return home. With the help of European funds, they laid the foundations of an ultra-modern farm, located near Porumbacu de Jos, at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains.

Andrei, you were only 18 years old when he left home. He had 300 euros in his pocket, by the way, borrowed. Initially, he worked as an unskilled laborer on various construction sites. But England gave him the chance to study and develop.

In turn, his wife, Oana, advanced in her career. So that, together, the two Romanians who went abroad managed to have a dream life. They even bought two houses and could afford any vacation.

However, they realized that none of these things make them happy. “After I had it all, and money, and expensive vacations and all, I realized that .. it’s not worth all this running for some bitter money”Andrei told, according to antena3.ro.

They took it from scratch in Romania

In Romania, they started from scratch and established the Angus cow farm on two hectares of pasture. With the help of the money raised, as well as European funds, they saw their wish come true.

“In 2019, we accessed European funds. Two million euros, 10% co-financing…I was lucky. The last of that session. We brought the money from abroad… We all brought it home and completed what we set out to do.

We have a saivan with a capacity of 400, 50 is maternity, 350 is the rest of the hall. In the saivan we have a plow, water fountains, light, brushes for massaging cows, cleaning…we also have classical music. We are trying to be a closed chain, to be a somewhat biodynamic farm”the man added.
