After Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization, Patriarch Kirill urged Russian citizens to go fight in the war in Ukraine.

Patriarch Kirill of Russia encouraged Russians not to fear death and go to war.

“Go bravely to fulfill your military duty. and don’t forget that if you die for your country, you will be with God in His kingdom, in glory and in eternal life,” Kirill said, according to NEXTA.

After Vladimir Putin’s announcement of military mobilization, Russia’s borders became crowded with Russians trying to flee the country.

The options to flee are limited. Earlier this week, four of the five EU member states bordering Russia announced that they would no longer allow Russians to enter their territory using tourist visas.

There was chaos at the land borders as well, but also at the airports. Huge queues of cars formed at almost all land customs of the Russian Federation on Thursday. Also, tickets for direct flights to destinations in Armenia, Turkey and Azerbaijan – Russia’s neighboring countries for which Russian citizens do not need a visa – quickly sold out.
