On Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry listed the categories of citizens who will not be required to obey the Kremlin’s incorporation order.

So, among the most fortunate Russians are, in particular, employees of organizations operating in the field of information technology, telecommunications operators in Russia, basic organizations in the field of information and communications, as well as organizations that ensure the stability of the national payment system and infrastructure the financial market, informs the Russian state news agency TASS.

The full message published by the Russian Ministry of Defense:

In order to ensure the operation of certain high-tech industries, as well as the financial system of the Russian Federation, a decision was made not to enlist in military service in the framework of the partial mobilization of citizens with higher education in the relevant specialties and fields of training, working:

– in accredited organizations that operate in the field of information technology and that are involved in the elaboration, development, implementation, maintenance and exploitation of solutions in the field of information technology and ensuring the operation of the information infrastructure;

– within telecommunications operators in Russia and those involved in ensuring the stability, security and integrity of the operation of communications facilities, data processing centers, as well as public communications facilities and lines in the Russian Federation;

– in the basic organizations in the field of information and communications, as well as in their interdependent persons who are the founder and (or) the editorial staff and (or) the publisher of a registered mass media and (or) the broadcaster of a television channel, of a radio channel and which are involved in the production and (or) distribution of media products;

– in organizations that ensure the stability of the national payment system and the financial market infrastructure, the management of bank liquidity, the circulation of cash”.

“The lists of citizens presented by the leaders of the relevant organizations in the form prescribed to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will be considered the basis for the exemption from the involvement of citizens in the military mobilization service”, stated the Ministry of Defense.

Violent protests in Russia, after Putin’s decree

Up to 300,000 Russians with some military experience are to go through a short training program before being sent to the front in Ukraine. The mobilization plan was met with violent protests in dozens of cities.

More than 1,300 demonstrators were arrested, most in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Those who dare to protest are threatened that they will not be sent to prison, but directly to war in Ukraine.

In dozens of Russian cities – from Siberia and the Far East, to Moscow and St. Petersburg, to Belgorod, close to the border with Ukraine – thousands of people took to the streets and dared to confront the regime.

Numerous images circulated on social media of protesters being knocked to the ground, beaten and pushed into buses by law enforcement.

Most of the arrests were in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
