An Austrian company wants to build a superyacht that can transform into a submarine for billionaires. Company representatives say the superyacht will have several amenities, including a helipad, a hot air balloon, a swimming pool, a gym, an art gallery and a movie theater, reports CNN.

An Austrian company wants to build a superyacht that can transform into a submarine, which can descend 250 meters below the surface of the ocean and stay submerged for up to four weeks.

The company has revealed its ambitious plans for what it claims will be “the world’s only private submersible superyacht”, offering “an as yet non-existent alternative to large private surface vessels”.

This submarine, named M5, would measure 165.8 meters long and 23 meters in diameter. However, “desired superyacht dimensions, exterior styling and interior design depend on the owners’ preferences.”

The superyacht will have several facilities, including a helipad, a swimming pool, a gym, an art gallery, a cinema, a party area, along with plenty of spaces for lounging or dining. Optional amenities include a hot air balloon and an underwater shark feeding station.

“Owners are looking for privacy, security and protection for themselves, their guests and their valuables,” says the company’s CEO, adding that it will be a “private submersible fortress.”

The costs of the project are not yet known, given that there are customization options, but according to some estimates, it would be about two billion dollars to start.

The M5 uses technologies borrowed from existing motor yachts and submersibles.
