He also added that Belarus does not threaten anyone: “We must not threaten anyone. We don’t want someone else’s land. God forbid we think of such a thing!”

Aleksandr Lukashenko attended the ceremony of laying a capsule on the construction site of a new hospital in the border town of Grodno, and thus allegedly sent “a message to Belarus’ neighboring countries”.

“Now we also dig the ground, like them, very close to the border. But our goals are completely different. They dig trenches there, trenches against tanks and other weapons, and that’s where two-thirds of the budget goes. We direct the budget towards the social sphere. We want to build our peaceful future”.

Russia and its satellite Belarus have repeatedly threatened NATO countries. Russia used a made-up “threat from the West” to justify its attack on Ukraine.
