A 31-year-old Romanian lost a stolen wallet in which he kept his own documents. He was released, following investigations by the Italian police.

The wallet was lost by a citizen of Jesi, in September 2022, and inside, in addition to money, he had the driver’s license and the health card, reports Centro Pagina.

After more than a year, in November 2023, the wallet containing the documents of the Romanian man, as well as those of the Italian, was found in Piazzale Partigiani and handed over to the police.

After investigation, it was determined that the documents had been stolen and not lost. The Romanian man stole the wallet and put his documents in it, but also kept those of the Italian citizen.

He claimed to have found the documents in Slovenia and kept them waiting to be contacted for return. However, after several investigations, it was established that the Italian citizen had never traveled to Slovenia, and thus the Romanian was accused of theft.
