The accident in which Sorin Constantin Enghel lost his life took place on Friday afternoon, in Poland, observatornews.ro informs.

In addition to his position at the Aeroclub in Iasi, Constantin Sorin Enghel was also a parachuting instructor.

The tragedy happened on Friday morning in Longinówka, near Piotrków Trybunalski. During a jump in which several parachutists participated, Sorin Enghel’s parachute got tangled with that of a Pole who had also jumped.

The Pole arrived at the hospital, being in a very serious condition.

Sorin-Constantin Enghel was only 49 years old.

According to the first information, Enghel was one of the 16 paratroopers participating in a training. Nine jumped from the same plane, and four of them formed a formation in the air before two of the parachutes got tangled.

Enghel’s death dismayed the paratrooper community in Romania.
