He crashed and fled the scene. The police chased him and caught him. The driver was drunk and drugged, and had other prohibited substances in the car

A 27-year-old man, who was driving a car while intoxicated on the Deva – Nădlac highway and on which drugs were found, was detained for 24 hours by the police, the Timiș Police informed on Friday, May 10.

The police officers of the A1 Deva – Nădlac Highway Bureau were alerted, on Thursday, that at the junction of the A1 and A6 highways, at kilometer 458, there was a road accident resulting in material damage, the driver of the car continuing his journey on the A6 towards the municipality of Lugoj .

The police immediately went to the scene, and after checks they managed to stop and identify the driver of the car, namely a 27-year-old man, at the exit from the A6 towards the Lugoj belt.

After testing it with the breathalyzer, a value of 0.59 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted.

Also, following the testing with the equipment of the young man, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances. This is not evidence in the criminal case, the young man being taken to a hospital unit for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances.

At the same time, after checking the interior of the car driven by the young man, a bag containing plant substances likely to produce psychoactive effects was found. They were picked up and sealed, being forwarded to the Timişoara Organized Crime Brigade for further investigations.
