The young man, after hitting another car, continued on his way to Lugoj. After a call to 112, the police managed to stop the individual near this city.

When they tested him, the law enforcement officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol, having a concentration of more than 0.57 mg/l in exhaled air.

What the police say about the accident about the accident on the A1, caused by the drugged and drunk driver

“On May 9th, the police officers of the A1 Deva – Nădlac Highway Bureau were alerted to the fact that at the A1 road junction with the A6, km 458, there had been a road accident resulting in material damage, the driver of the car continuing his traveling on the A6 towards the municipality of Lugoj.

Taking into account what was reported, the police immediately went to the scene, and following the checks they managed to stop and identify the driver of the car, namely a 27-year-old young man. He was stopped at the exit from the A6 towards Lugoj Ring Road.

After testing the driver with the breathalyzer, a value of 0.59 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted.

Also, after testing with the device provided, indications emerged regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances. Because the drug test result is not evidence in the criminal case, the young man was taken to a hospital unit for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances.

In addition, following the control inside the car driven by the young man, a bag was found containing plant substances likely to produce psychoactive effects (next photo).

They were picked up and sealed, being forwarded to the Timișoara Organized Crime Brigade for further investigations.

In the case, the police have drawn up a criminal case for the offenses of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages, driving a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances, as well as possession of drugs for consumption.

Following the probationary period administered in the case, the young man was detained for a period of 24 hours and was placed in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center in Caraș-Severin”, the police statement states.
